Mr. Chan is currently a Project Manager at the School of Public Health, LKS Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Hong Kong. He joined the University in 2024 and is primarily involved in the HKU JC Nursing Leadership Fellowship Development Program, generously funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. His role includes overseeing student affairs and coordinating teaching activities. Additionally, Mr. Chan is a former guest lecturer at HKU SPACE China Business School and the Institute of Enterprise Studies.
Mr. Chan has been a Registered Psychiatric Nurse since 1985, with extensive clinical experience at the Medical & Health Department and the Hospital Authority. He was promoted to Nursing Officer in 1995 and later to Ward Manager in 1997. During this time, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (First-Class Honors) in 1993 and a Master’s Degree in Health Services Management in 2003, both from Hong Kong Polytechnic University.”
In 2009, he was promoted to Senior Nursing Officer and joined the Nursing Services Division, where he led the Hospital Accreditation Program, with Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital selected as the pilot public hospital for accreditation with ACHS. In 2012, he took on responsibility for nursing manpower management as well as nursing training and development. He retired from the Hospital Authority in 2021.
